*UPDATE OCT 2011*
See Lardbutty’s updated post on Bombay Bicycle Club – disappointing service and bland, boring food. Bombay Bicycle Club is *off* menu…
Known for its premium Indian food, Bombay Bicycle Club has over 15 branches around London, and is currently offering any curry and rice with popadoms for £6, Monday to Thursday evenings on take-aways and deliveries.
If you join their Curry Lover’s Club at www.bombay-bicycle.com, you can get a free bottle of wine when you dine in at one of their restaurants (check website for current offers).
Over the years I’ve tried much of their decent-sized menu – tandoori mix grill and onion bhajees are top starters, and curries, veggie sides and breads are all consistently superb too.
While food really is top-notch, they can be wholly unreliable with deliveries – it’s worth calling to check your delivery’s on its way (rather than being returned to the kitchen and left to go cold if a confused delivery boy neither delivers nor contacts you). One delivery mess-up is easily forgiveable but several is just tedious.
