This tiny Indian restaurant on Shepherd’s Market serves good food but I do wonder how a restaurant here keeps going, as there’s only space for about 20 covers at a push. And, on a Friday night – when you’d expect it to be busy – our party of three was seated immediately.
Service can be somewhat hostile, although our waiter softened a little after I said dhanyavad (thank you) a couple of times, last night.

Tiny – and empty – New Taj Mahal
We paid £30 each (£90 total) for a selection of starters and mains to share which included bhajis, mutter paneer, peshwari nans, chapattis, rice, a king prawn special curry, chicken dhansak and two bottles of wine. There was more food than we could eat so very reasonably priced.
