Bangalore Express

Named after its express sleeper train appearance (not fast-food service) Bangalore Express offers great quality Indian food in a pleasingly quirky environment.

Cosy booths are laid out in two tiers like double-decker beds in sleeper carriages, so you can climb up a ladder to an upper booth. This brings extra privacy and you get a bird’s eye view of all the wonderful dishes being eaten by those below you!

The masala dosais are outstanding though the main course portion is the size of a Turkish carpet (small size pictured here):

While the food is fabulous (and deserves a 4/5 rating) service can be painfully slow and poor, and – even on this visit in January – the heat in our upper tier booth was unbearably hot. For this, the overall rating is marked down to 3.5/5.
