Masala Zone

Masala Zone is the budget arm of the fine Masala World (Chutney Mary) restaurant group.

Branded as ‘London’s leading casual dining indian restaurants’ dishes are inexpensive yet quality isn’t compromised. In most branches you can see your food being prepared from fresh ingredients in an open plan kitchen, right in front of you.

Thalis are a speciality and a favourite of mine – a silver tray containing small portions of several dishes such as popadom and chutney, a main curry dish of your choice, two side vegetable dishes, rice and dal (lentils) – for about £8.00. A grand thali also includes chapati, salad and raita for about £10.00. Curried noodle bowls are also excellent – spicy, soup-like dishes – the only downside is if you’re on a lunch hour break, they seem to go on forever and can take a long time to get through!

Keep an eye on the website too – even though the menu is good value anyway, there are regular promotions and discounts.
