Yalla Yalla – Beirut street food

Lardbutty restaurant: Yalla Yalla – Beirut street food

A tiny restaurant packed with style and intrigue, Yalla Yalla serves excellent middle eastern food and drinks. There was a laid-back, café atmosphere on my visit this lunch time; with old photos of Beirut on the walls and other Lebanese memorabilia giving it a homely feel.

Arriving early, we were fortunate enough to get a table before they were all taken, while a continuous stream of customers settled on take-aways (you can only reserve a table for parties of 10+).

We shared tabboulé (chopped parsley, mint, spring onion, tomato, olive oil, lemon juice and cracked wheat salad), soujoc (homemade spicy lebanese sausages with tomato, parsley and lemon juice) and felafel wraps, and a Bekaa Valley sauvignon blanc, all of which were fabulous.

Intriguing interior, excellent food, great value. A must-try.
